Giving Back

Charity Bike Rides for Hands Across the Water

As someone who has had success in business, Brendon Granger has always been conscious of giving back
Food for the Soul

One of the charities Brendon and his family actively support is ‘Hands Across the Water’.

As a business, Technology 4 Hotels support the charity on a monthly basis. However, on a personal level, Brendon felt that there was still more to give and committed to riding 500 km in five days across Thailand in February 2014. There were a total of 29 rider and as a group they raised over $180,000 which helped to cover the cost of a new orphanage built to support kids living with HIV. The children went from living in tents to a purpose built home.

Brendon has participated every year since and in 2019 rode with his 16 year old son.

Riders must raise a minimum of $5,000 each and pay their own airfare, food, accommodation and even bike hire. Brendon supports “Hands” as he knows the money goes to those in need and he has seen the real and long lasting benefits.

Fund Raising

To raise funds for “Hands” Brendon holds an on-line auction and is very grateful for the generous support from clients and suppliers in the form of Accommodation packages, Dining Experiences, Telephone sets, Bluetooth Speakers, Clocks, etc. This is a wonderful win-win as clients and suppliers are able to support Brendon and the valuable work that Hands does, generate brand exposure and those who win items are well aware they are donated so they promote this through social media and also spend up in other areas so if accommodation, they will dine at the property to show their support for the generous donation.

A Man of His Word

In 2019, Brendon rode with his son so needed to raise $10,000 and the on-line auction and other initiatives were unable to generate sufficient funds. Jokingly Brendon said “I’d shave my head if I could get $1,000”, his friend slapped down $100 and said “Do it”.

So he did. Here’s the video his son Josh took and you guessed it, Josh refused to shave his head too. On a serious note, this is the essence of who Brendon is, a man of his word on both a professional and personal level.
